The Mind Behind TheLivingRecord
AUTHOR (n.) — one who writes not only with ink, but with blood, memory, and vision. A maker of worlds, a keeper of truths, a witness who refuses silence.
FOUNDER (n.) — one who lays the first stone, not to build monuments, but to carve living space for voices, for rebellion, for record.
📜 As author and founder of TheLivingRecord, I hold the work of writing as both craft and cultural act. Each word a thread, each story an archive, each record a resistance.
The Living Record is just one branch of my creative and intellectual work. As an actor, writer, director, and cultural worker, my interests live at the intersections of art, history, and activism. I am drawn to stories that center Black life—not just as representation, but as resistance. My writing often explores themes of memory, legacy, and the ways art can be used as a tool for political and social transformation.
Here, on The Living Record, you’ll find essays that wrestle with history, profiles of artists who inspire rebellion and resilience, soundtracks that capture the pulse of a moment, and letters that bridge past struggles with present-day realities. At the heart of it all is a deep belief: that art is not a luxury—it’s a record, a weapon, and a map for the future.
